چکیده

In psychopathological diagnosis, a correct classification of mental retardation level is needed to choose the better treatment for rehabilitation and to assure a quality of life suitable for the specific patient condition. In order to meet this need we studied a technique that allows to perform automatic diagnoses efficiently and reliably and at the same time is easy for psychotherapists to use. In this paper we present a new approach which integrates two well-known computational intelligence techniques: Fuzzy CMeans and Genetic Algorithms. This integration allows automatic generation of an optimized classifier for efficient recognition of mental retardation level starting from databases with missing values. The results obtained with this simple technique are encouraging: an empirical test on our database of patients showed the efficiency of the simple integrated algorithm, which also gives a great deal of useful information for diagnostic purposes.

Psychology with soft computing: An integrated approach and its applications

Soft computing techniques proved to be successful in many application areas. In this paper we investigate the application in psychopathological field of two well known soft computing techniques, fuzzy logic and genetic algorithms (GAs). The investigation started from a practical need: the creation of a tool for a quick and correct classification of mental retardation level, which is needed to c...

A Fuzzy-GA Approach for Parameter Optimization of A Fuzzy Expert System for Diagnosis of Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia in Children

Hybrid fuzzy expert systems are one of the most practical intelligent paradigm of soft computing techniques with the high potential for managing uncertainty associated to the medical diagnosis. The potential of genetic algorithm (GA) by inspiring from natural evolution as a learning and optimization technique has been vastly concentrated for improving fuzzy expert systems. In this paper, the GA...

INTELLIGENT TECHNIQUE OF CANCELING MATERNAL ECG IN FECG EXTRACTION

In this paper, we propose a technique of artificial intelligence called adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) for canceling maternal electrocardiogram (MECG) in fetal electrocardiogram extraction (FECG).This technique is used to estimate the MECG present in the abdominal signal of a pregnant woman. The FECG is then extracted by subtracting the estimated MECG from the abdominal signal. P...

A Fuzzy Expert System for Diagnosis of Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia in Children

Fuzzy expert systems are one of the most practical intelligent models with the high potential for managing uncertainty associated to the medical diagnosis. In this paper, a fuzzy inference system (FIS) for diagnosing of acute lymphocytic leukemia in children has been introduced. The fuzzy expert system applies Mamdani reasoning model that has high interpretability to explain system results to e...
